Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund Awards 2023 Grants 

The Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund Management Board voted June 13, 2023 to award $41,942,700 in subsidies to water quality projects in six Cape Cod towns.  

Contingent commitments for 25% subsidies to fund qualified projects listed on the 2023 Clean Water State Revolving Fund Intended Use Plan were awarded to water quality and wastewater projects in the towns of Barnstable, Chatham, Harwich, Mashpee, Wellfleet, and Yarmouth. Projects receiving funds include pump station improvements and sewer extensions and expansions, construction of wastewater treatment facilities, and an innovative/alternative septic system program

Notice of Opportunity for Public Comment on Transportation Planning Documents 

In accordance with the Public Participation Plan, the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has released the draft FFY 2024 Unified Planning Work Program, the draft FFY 2024-2028 Transportation Improvement Program, and the draft FFY 2023-2028 Transportation Improvement Program Amendment 2 for a 21-day public review and comment period.  Members of the public are invited to review these documents and provide comments.

The Cape Cod Commission is seeking comments and input from the public to support development of the 2024 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). An online survey is now open.

Cape Cod 2024 Regional Transportation Plan Update

To kick off the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) development process, a series of Listening Sessions have been scheduled to gather early public input. Each Listening Session will include a presentation and time for questions and comments. The RTP sets the long-range vision for the transportation system on Cape Cod in 2050. It is the primary means for the allocation of federal and state funds for the Cape's transportation needs.

Cape Cod Commission partners with towns to host virtual workshops on low-lying roads

The Cape Cod Commission will host a series of virtual public meetings in the coming weeks in the towns of Barnstable, Bourne, Brewster, Eastham, Truro, and Wellfleet to present conceptual design alternatives created by the Woods Hole Group to address vulnerable low-lying roadway segments, bridges, and culverts.

Cape Cod Commission receives federal Safe Streets and Roads for All grant

The Cape Cod Commission is receiving $240,000 in federal grant funding to support the Cape Cod Regional Safety Action Plan through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program, an initiative designed to improve roads and address traffic fatalities nationwide.

Applications open for third session of Cape Cod Climate Ambassador Program  

The Cape Cod Commission is pleased to invite Cape and Islands students in grades 9-12 to apply for the Climate Ambassador Program. The Program is an initiative to educate, engage and empower young people on Cape Cod to work together to combat the impacts of climate change.
