AGENDA: Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization

Note: The meeting will be held virtually, with all members of the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization participating remotely, pursuant to Massachusetts Governor Charles D. Baker’s Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law dated March 12, 2020.    

Members of the public can join the meeting using one of the following methods:     

Meeting materials may be accessed at www.capecodcommission.org/mpo. It is recommended that phone participants access materials in advance of the meeting. Please join the virtual meeting at least fifteen minutes before the start of the meeting and call (508) 362-3828 if you have any issues joining.

  2. Introductions: Staff will introduce the newly elected members to the Board and review general meeting procedures with them
  3. Potential approval of prior meeting minutes: November 16, 2020
  4. Public Comment
  5. Calendar Year 2021 Safety Performance Measure Targets​: Staff will describe, and the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) may vote to adopt, statewide Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) safety performance targets for calendar year 2021.
  6. Federal Fiscal Year (October 1 September 30) 2022Unified Planning Work Program(UPWP) Development: Staffwill provide an update on the 2021 UPWP and describe the process for developing the 2022 UPWP. MPO members may ask questions and provide suggestions of potential tasks and studies for inclusion in the 2022 UPWP.
  7. Federal Fiscal Years (October 1 September 30) 2022-2026 Transportation Improvement Program Development: Staff will review projects in the 2021-2025 TIP and lead a discussion on the status and readiness of these projects. Project readiness discussions will help inform the development of the 2022-2026 TIP.
  8. Reports: MassDOT staff will discuss the status of the Transportation Improvement Program projects, the Cape Cod Canal Area Transportation Improvement Program, and the Short Sea Shipping Alternatives for Southeastern Massachusetts Study. Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority and Cape Cod Commission staff will report on recent and upcoming transportation initiatives across Cape Cod.
  9. New Business: Topics not reasonably anticipated by the Chair more than 48 hours before the meeting.
