AGENDA: Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization

Note: The meeting will be held virtually, with all members of the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization participating remotely, pursuant to Massachusetts Governor Charles D. Baker’s Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law dated March 12, 2020.    

Members of the public can join the meeting using one of the following methods:

  4. Public Comment
  5. Sub-regional Representative Election: The Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)will hold a vote of all selectmen in attendance to elect the sub-regional representatives to the MPO for the term of January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023, followed by a tally of any absentee ballots submitted. The slate of candidates is as follows: Judith McLeod Froman, sub-region A (Towns of Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee and Sandwich), Sheryl McMahon, sub-region B (Towns of Yarmouth, and Dennis), Kevin Galligan, sub-region C (Towns of Brewster, Harwich, Chatham, and Orleans), and Robert Weinstein, sub-region D (Towns of Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown).
  6. Federal Fiscal Year 2021 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) Amendment #1: Staff will present comments on, and the MPOmay vote to endorse, draft Amendment #1, which would add language to the UPWP to identify that a consultant will assist in the completion of Task 2.3 (Transportation Database Management).
  7. Cape Rail Study: Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) staff will provide an update on the Cape Rail Study, a study that will evaluate the potential for extending year-round passenger rail to Cape Cod and give information on the first Advisory Group meeting, to be held on November 19, 2020.
  8. Reports: MassDOT staff will discuss the status of the Transportation Improvement Program projects, the Cape Cod Canal Area Transportation Improvement Program, and the Short Sea Shipping Alternatives for Southeastern Massachusetts Study. Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority and Cape Cod Commission staff will report on recent and upcoming transportation initiatives across Cape Cod.
  9. New Business: Topics not reasonably anticipated by the Chair more than 48 hours before the meeting.
