Improving wayfinding in Falmouth
The Cape Cod Commission is collaborating with the Town of Falmouth to develop a wayfinding plan for downtown. This plan aims to improve navigation for motorists, transit users, pedestrians, and bicyclists in the area.
Wayfinding is a system of visual cues such as signs, landscaping, pavement markings, or other objects that help people orient themselves in physical space and navigate from place to place.
This project will produce recommendations for wayfinding signage, pavement treatments, and possible technological options to improve movement for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists downtown. It will focus on key areas and intersections that could benefit from additional wayfinding infrastructure while highlighting Falmouth’s unique character and features.
The Town of Falmouth is asking residents and visitors to complete a survey to share their experiences navigating downtown and share input on potential signage design. Anyone who visits downtown Falmouth may take the survey by visiting this link: www.surveymonkey.com/r/FalmouthPW.
