Overview
Regional planning is the Cape Cod Commission’s central role. The Cape Cod Commission assists communities in regional planning efforts to guide development in the region in a sustainable way.
Regional planning addresses resources and needs that transcend municipal boundaries, identifies and helps protect special areas that are particularly vulnerable to development pressures, and works to improve the function and character of communities while managing growth and protecting the Cape's sensitive environment. Commission staff provides technical assistance to Cape communities to help towns develop and implement plans in coordination with neighboring jurisdictions.
