The COVID-19 pandemic continues to significantly impact Cape Cod's economy. As the regional planning agency for Barnstable County, the Commission is committed to supporting our towns and business community as we address the challenges of the pandemic and strengthen our economic resiliency. The Commission was awarded a U.S. EDA CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to support efforts to respond to and recover from the devastating economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and develop strategies to improve resilience in the future.

businessCOVID-19 Recovery and Resiliency Workshop Series

As part of its economic resiliency efforts, the Commission is working with Revby, a business consulting and technical assistance firm, to provide a multi-part workshop series designed to help Cape Cod business owners navigate COVID-19 recovery and resiliency strategies. The first workshop, which was held on February 18, focused on the second round of the Paycheck Protection Program and other pandemic-relief funding opportunities.

Two-part, industry-specific virtual workshops will follow the initial workshop on pandemic-relief funding opportunities. The first of the two-part series of workshops, which target local industries disproportionately affected by the pandemic, will introduce the Commission's broader business recovery and resiliency efforts, including the development of industry recovery and resiliency toolkits, then will provide real examples of business resiliency and continuity to help local businesses identify strategies they may use. The first workshops will also present some practical suggestions on how businesses may incorporate digital marketing, eCommerce, and collaboration/networking practices in their continuity plan – all areas indicated as types of assistance still needed by Cape Cod small business owners according to the Cape Cod COVID-19 business impact surveys.

These virtual workshops are free, but registration is required.
