NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT ON TRANSPORTATION PLANNING DOCUMENTS

The Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has released two (2) documents for a 21-day public review and comment period. Members of the public are invited to review these documents and provide comments.

In accordance with the Public Participation Process developed by the Cape Cod MPO, Cape Cod Commission is making the DRAFT FFY 2019-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the DRAFT FFY 2019 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) available for public review and comment.

The TIP serves as a prioritized listing of roadway, bridge, and transit projects proposed for implementation during the next five (5) federal fiscal years. The UPWP describes all significant transportation planning activities planned on Cape Cod over the twelve (12) month period. The critical freight corridor designation allows for access to a new federal funding program on these designated roadways. Copies of these documents are available for review at the Cape Cod Commission Offices (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), at http://www.capecodcommission.org/mpo, and/or upon request.

A public meeting of the Cape Cod MPO is scheduled for May 21, 2018 at 1 PM to hear additional public comments and consider endorsement of these documents. This meeting will be held at the Cape Cod Commission Office at 3325 Main Street (Route 6A) Barnstable, MA 02631. Transit service is available on the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority’s Barnstable Villager Route (Barnstable Village-Courthouse stop).

Please contact Steven Tupper at 508-362-3828 for further information.
