Notice of Public Meetings: Mashpee Rotary Corridor Study
Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Mashpee Public Library Event Room
64 Steeple Street, Mashpee, MA
Cape Cod Commission and Town of Mashpee staff will be holding two public meetings on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Mashpee Public Library (64 Steeple Street, Mashpee) at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to discuss potential conceptual improvements identified as part of the Mashpee Rotary Corridor Study and to gather feedback. Based on the information learned at the two public Listening Sessions held in April, the Cape Cod Commission and the Town of Mashpee staff developed draft alternative concepts for the corridor, ranging from striping improvements to rotary replacement, which aim to reduce congestion and improve multi-modal accommodations. The upcoming meetings will include a presentation of these potential improvements followed by an interactive group discussion, with a focus on gathering public feedback on the presented ideas.
The Mashpee Rotary is a five-leg, major regional transportation node with the intersections of Route 28, Route 151, Great Neck Road North, and Great Neck Road South. The Mashpee Rotary and its approaches have been identified as a priority for investigation due to congestion and safety issues.
The Cape Cod Commission, under the Unified Planning Work Program, is conducting a transportation planning study for the corridor with the goal of developing context-sensitive improvements that will provide safe and convenient access within the study area for all users of the roadway system including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and motorists.
These are the final planned public meetings for this project. A report will be prepared following a review of the feedback from this public meeting and any other comments received from the public.
