Historic Preservation Workshop: April 17, 2014

Cape Cod’s Annual Historic Preservation Workshop will take place on April 17, 2014 in the Harborview Conference Room in the County Complex in Barnstable Village.

Drawing off of last year’s successful presentations on “Preparing for the Future”, this year’s workshop will have several notable speakers including Jess Phelps and Carissa Demore of Historic New England, Chris Skelly from the Mass Historical Commission, Janis Mamayek from  ICON Architecture, and Preservation Consultant Eric Dray. The Commission’s Historic Preservation Specialist Sarah Korjeff will also be on hand to introduce speakers of the day.

Topics will include maintaining historic properties in New England, case studies on Cape Cod, and current practices for historic surveys. Also to be featured is a round table discussion for Historic District Boards and Historical Commissions, facilitated by several speakers and Mark Voigt, the Nantucket Historic District Commission Administrator.

Due to the popularity of this event, the workshop is full and registration is closed. A waiting list has been started so workshop planners can notify additional people interested in attending if other registrants drop out. Contact Sarah Korjeff if you wish to be added to the waiting list.
