COMMUNITY DESIGN PLANNER

Work as part of a team on a variety of planning projects and strategies for the region. Provide site planning, graphic design, and visualization products and services. Provide technical assistance and information to local officials, stakeholder groups and the public concerning planning and regulatory issues. Superior communication and organizational skills required. Ability to manage multiple projects and work with interdisciplinary teams. Land-use planning and graphic design techniques, and working knowledge in related software including graphic design, GIS, modeling, and rendering software.

Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design, landscape architecture/design, or related and three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree and experience in long range or regional planning preferred.

COMMUNITY DESIGN/AFFORDABLE HOUSING SPECIALIST

Provides technical support to public officials and the public concerning planning, regulatory and design issues related to affordable and other housing. Promotes smart growth development, higher density and mixed use housing.

Participates in multi-disciplinary project teams providing support and recommendations to public officials. Assists with development of the low and moderate housing component of local and regional plans, evaluates fairness of same. Comments on comprehensive permit and development of regional impact applications.

Understanding of specification writing, cost estimating and financing housing projects. Ability to manage projects. Ability to plan, organize, analyze problems, and formulate recommendations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of public and private groups.

Requires superior communication, organization, independent judgment and initiative. Bachelor’s degree in urban planning/design, public administration plus five years of experience in housing planning and land use planning controls; master’s degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

GEOSPATIAL DEVELOPER

The Cape Cod Commission is looking for a Geospatial Developer candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and one or more years of progressively responsible experience in a development role and with programming; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Applicants must have strong data and information management skills, analytical capabilities, and ability to interpret complex technical and scientific information and translate into code.

Candidates need to have an understanding of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript; experience with SQL relational databases; familiarity with server side languages (PHP, NodeJS, Ruby, etc.) and using ESRI ArcGIS Javascript API, ESRI ArcMap, and ArcGIS Server map server technologies is desired.
