Ocean and Coastal Management journal publishes article on 208 Plan process

An in-depth, peer reviewed article highlighting the community-based process to create Cape Cod’s Area Wide Water Quality Management Plan (208 Plan) was recently published by Ocean and Coastal Management, an international journal dedicated to the study of all aspects of ocean and coastal management at international, national, regional, and local levels.

“Designing Solutions for Clean Water on Cape Cod: Engaging Communities to improve decision making” was written by Cape Cod Commission Deputy Director Erin Perry, along with Stacie Smith of the Consensus Building Institute and Kate Mulvaney of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The article reviews the cutting-edge approach to moving forward on complex, large-landscape natural resource challenges and details the active participation from a broad range of community stakeholders to address the critical issue of impaired coastal water quality on Cape Cod.
