AGENDA: Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund Management Board

Note: The meeting will be held virtually, with members of the Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund Management Board participating remotely, pursuant to Chapter 20 of the Acts of 2021, as amended by Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2025.

AGENDA

  1. Roll Call/Attendance
  2. Review and approval of prior meeting minutes: 4/29/2025
  3. Election of Officers:The Board will vote to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair for the Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund Management Board for the term July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027.  
  4. Subsidy Awards: Cape Cod Commission staff will review projects from the 2023 and 2024 Clean Water Intended Use Plan (IUP) that have qualified for final subsidy from the Management Board. The list of qualified projects is available at capecodcommission.org/meetingnoticesThe Management Board may vote to award final subsidies to these projects located in Barnstable, Chatham, Dennis, Harwich, Mashpee and Yarmouth, MA.
  5. Revenue Projections for Island Communities: Cape Cod Commission staff will provide an update on communications with municipalities from Dukes County regarding Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund membership and next steps for the Management Board regarding data analysis and potential regulatory amendments to accommodate new member communities. The Management Board may vote to authorize Cape Cod Commission staff to work with PFM Financial Advisors to develop revenue projections for Dukes and Nantucket Counties.
  6. Water Quality Monitoring: Cape Cod Commission staff will provide an update on coastal and freshwater monitoring contracts for Cape Cod and review a request for proposals that was issued to continue the Regional Pond Monitoring Program for Cape Cod. The Management Board may vote to authorize Cape Cod Commission staff to utilize a portion of the Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund revenue set aside for monitoring to support expansion of the Regional Pond Monitoring Program.
  7. Member Reports: Members of the Management Board, including ex-officio members and non-member community representatives from Dukes and Nantucket Counties, will have an opportunity to provide comments and reports on local and regional water resources initiatives.
  8. New Business: Topics not reasonably anticipated by the Chair more than 48 hours before the meeting.

  10. Future Agenda Topics: Identification of future agenda topics by Management Board members and Cape Cod Commission staff.
