Real Time Traveler Information

Traffic Advisories

Belmont Circle - Night work including Route 25 detour

MassDOT will be conducting painting on the mast arms at the Belmont Circle Rotary. Work will begin on Monday, May 13^th, weather permitting, and will continue Sunday through Thursday from the hours of 9:00 pm until 5:00 am in the area of Scenic Highway, Belmont Circle, Route 25 Ramps, and the Route 6/28 Bypass. Crews will be working on one mast arm at a time, with the work starting on Scenic Hwy in the area of Speedway and continue to the Rotary, highway ramp, and ending on the Bypass.

Lane closures and/or lane shifts will occur nightly, with occasional closure of the Route 25 off ramp to Bourne.

Bourne Rotary - New traffic pattern now in place

This new traffic pattern is intended to improve safety and traffic operations by restriping the rotary with two lanes, adding a channelized right turn lane from Route 28 northbound to Sandwich Road eastbound and adding a right turn lane from Route 28 southbound to Trowbridge Road.

MassDOT Route 28 & Yarmouth Road Intersection Improvement Project

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), working with their contract Northern Construction, will be completing an intersection improvements project at the intersection of Route 28 and Yarmouth Road. The project will include lane widening/expansion, new sidewalks and pedestrian improvement, new traffic signalization as well as utility improvements, including drainage, water and sewer. Demolition of the old KAM Appliance building is complete. Weather pending, construction will be on-going, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM until completion of this phase of the project, which is anticipated for August 2024.

Daytime Roadway Reconstruction and Related Work (Including Signals) on a Section of Route 151

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be performing roadway corridor improvements along a section of Route 151 in Mashpee. The work will begin on Thursday, March 10, 2022 and will take place weekly, Monday through Friday, during daytime hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The work is anticipated to continue through March 2025. The roadway reconstruction operations will start approximately 1,400 feet west of the Old Barnstable Road intersection and will end at the Mashpee Rotary.
The work will consist of improvements to bicycle, pedestrian, and vehicle access along the corridor. The work will also consist of pavement reconstruction, box widening, milling and paving, pavement markings, traffic signal upgrades, new signs, drainage system upgrades and the installation of curbing. A shared-use path will be constructed on the north side of the roadway and a five-foot sidewalk along most of the south side of the roadway. In addition, landscaping operations will be conducted along the corridor.
Standard temporary traffic control operations will consist of lane restrictions and alternating one-way traffic. Construction signs, message boards, arrow boards, drums and police details will be utilized.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency.
