Stats Cape Cod is a resource for anyone interested in understanding the demographics and economy of Cape Cod. The site provides multiple formats for finding data about Barnstable County and its 15 towns. Stats Cape Cod also provides the opportunity to compare regional data to other geographies within or outside Barnstable County. All data and charts are downloadable and shareable.
The site is divided into four sections:
- Profiles allow users to see the latest data available for any county or town in Massachusetts, and are based on Census geographies. Counties can be compared side by side with any county or town in the US.
- Regional Benchmarks, developed locally, track the overall performance of the regional economy relative to the state and nation. The benchmarks reflect the economic development goals and objectives in the Regional Policy Plan and are updated annually.
- Data by Towns compare the 15 towns in Barnstable County, using national demographic and economic data, as well are local rooms tax data.
- Maps illustrate selected data by town and/or census tract for Cape Cod using American Community Survey data
Stats Cape Cod is a collaboration between the Cape Cod Commission and STATS America, developed by the Indiana Business Research Center at Indiana/Purdue University.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Commission staff began analyzing trends to support economic recovery efforts. The data dashboards are shared on Data Cape Cod.
