Under the provisions of the Cape Cod Commission Act, in 1990 the Commission prepared a Regional Policy Plan (RPP) that outlines a coherent set of planning policies and objectives to guide development on Cape Cod and to protect its resources. The Act requires the RPP be reviewed and amended at intervals not to exceed five years. The RPP was first amended in 1996 and in 2002.
The Commission is holding a public hearing and shall accept oral and written comments on changes to the 2008 Final Draft RPP on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the First District Court House, Assembly of Delegates Chamber, Route 6A, Barnstable, MA.

The Cape Cod Commission will conduct a public hearing on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Barnstable Town Hall Hearing Room, 367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA. The following project has been submitted to the Cape Cod Commission as a District of Critical Planning Concern (DCPC) Hardship Exemption under Section 23 of the Cape Cod Commission Act, c. 716 of the Acts of 1989, as amended. The project will be considered for a DCPC Hardship Exemption. This notice is being published as required by Section 5 of the Cape Cod Commission Act.

A hearing officer for the Cape Cod Commission will open a pro-forma hearing for procedural purposes on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cape Cod Commission, 3225 Main Street, Route 6A, Barnstable, MA. This development will be reviewed pursuant to Sections 12(i) and 13(b) of the Cape Cod Commission Act, c. 716 of the Acts of 1989, as amended, and Sections 2 and 3 of the Development of Regional Impact Enabling Regulations. This notice is being published as required by Section 5 of the Cape Cod Commission Act.

Project Description: As described in the Final Environmental Impact Report, the project is the proposed construction of six (6) cottages on an existing residential property of 19,708+/- square feet replacing an existing residence.
NOTE: The purpose of this hearing will be to open a DRI hearing for procedural purposes. No presentations will be made, no testimony will be taken and no substantive action will be taken regarding this project at this hearing. At a future date the hearing process will resume.
