Climate Action Plan
The final Eastham Climate Action Plan will be reviewed by the Eastham Select Board at their meeting on April 6, 2026. The plan was developed through extensive community engagement and a review of existing plans and best practices, with input from full- and part-time residents, business owners, local organizations, municipal staff, and partners. It integrates climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience across five focus areas, Buildings, Energy, Transportation, Natural Resources, and Community. Feedback gathered during the public comment period was used to inform the final draft of the plan.
Background

Situated along the eastern coast of Cape Cod, Eastham boasts approximately 29 miles of diverse coastline, providing residents and visitors with access to a variety of coastal landscapes. Eastham faces significant challenges from climate change, and these impacts are expected to threaten residential properties, critical infrastructure, local ecosystems, and the economy. To address these challenges, the Town of Eastham partnered with the Cape Cod Commission to develop a municipal climate action plan, which will create a comprehensive roadmap for addressing climate change at the local level and serve as a vital tool for all members of the community to take action, prioritize efforts, and allocate resources.
Community Engagement
A robust community engagement process informed Eastham Climate Action Plan. This included two community workshops, a series of community pop-ups, focus groups, and interviews.
